Fall Protection Workshop

This four-hour, hands-on workshop covers the essentials of fall protection as outlined in OSHA standards for both Construction (29 CFR 1926 Subpart M) and General Industry (29 CFR 1910 Subpart D). Participants will gain practical experience in the proper donning, adjustment, and inspection of personal fall arrest systems, including harnesses, connectors, and anchorages. The workshop is led by an instructor with extensive expertise in fall prevention and high-angle rescue, ensuring that participants leave with actionable skills in fall hazard identification, equipment handling, and emergency preparedness for various work environments. The session emphasizes the critical role of rescue plans, helping attendees understand how to develop, implement, and execute a rescue plan effectively. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own harnesses for personalized practice.

Objectives:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the specific fall protection requirements as defined by OSHA's Construction (29 CFR 1926 Subpart M) and General Industry (29 CFR 1910 Subpart D) standards.

  2. Inspect personal fall arrest equipment, including harnesses and lanyards, for signs of wear, damage, and proper functionality.

  3. Demonstrate the correct techniques for donning and adjusting a fall arrest harness to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.

  4. Evaluate potential fall hazards in the workplace and select appropriate fall protection measures for various work scenarios.

  5. Explain the critical components of a fall protection plan, including the safe use, storage, and maintenance of fall protection equipment.

  6. Understand the importance of having a rescue plan and the steps necessary to perform an effective rescue, ensuring prompt and safe responses to fall incidents.

  • No-Show Policy: Registered participants who do not attend the class ("no-shows") will be charged the full class cost. No-show fees cannot be used as credit for any future Employers Network class, event, or service.

  • Cancellation Window: Cancellations made less than 10 business days prior to the class start will be charged the full class cost. This fee may not be used as credit for future Employers Network classes, events, or services. However, substitutions are welcome.

  • Real-Time Event Changes: Employers Network reserves the right to make real-time changes to event content or offerings as necessary. In such cases, no refunds, partial refunds, or alternative offers will be made beyond the terms stated in this cancellation policy.
